Project description:
The main supporting element is a pair of steel arches of welded enclosed cross-section. The height of the arch profile varies from 995 mm at the base of the arch to 455 mm at the top. The arches are embedded in the substructure using steel feet and anchor bolts. The span of the arches is 101,879 m (upstream side) and 100,091 m (downstream side). The arches are interconnected by means of tubular rungs, between which the wind bracing is made of tubular profiles. The main supporting beam is a closed welded profile and is suspended on the arches by means of tubular rods. The rods are arranged to form six “V” shaped pairs for each arc. The distance of the hinges in the longitudinal direction is 11.08 m. A bracket transmitting forces to the hinges is formed on the beam at the point of suspension. In the middle of the span of the beam, a circular extension of the bridge for the viewing platform is made. The bridge deck is orthotropic steel, reinforced with longitudinal and transverse braces. The arches are connected by a composite-system tubular wind bracing. Wind bracing is also installed in the lower part of the arch under the beam.
  • Load-bearing structure length: 101 m
  • Steel structure weight: 160 t
The bridge received the Structure of South Moravia 2003 and the Czech Bridge of the Year 2003 awards.
