I/42 ROAD, DOBROVSKÉHO EXPRESSWAY – SVITAVY RADIAL, SO 204 BRIDGE ON BRANCH 7

Investor/Contracting Authority: OHL ŽS Brno a.s.

Project description:
This project involved the delivery and installation of an additional prestressing system with a switching reinforcement weight of 54.9 tons. The SO 204 bridge on Branch 7 was designed as a continuous monolithic reinforced-concrete structure with 5 spans from prestressed concrete and is part of the transport solution of the I/42 Brno Dobrovského Expressway – Svitavy radial. Its purpose is a one-way extra-level transfer of branch 7 in the direction from Žabovřesk to Svitavy over the projected underpasses. Branch 7 is two-lane in the place of the bridge object, guided in a directional arch with a radius of 55.50 m. The load-bearing structure is made up of a continuous two-chamber beam from prestress concrete C 30/37-XF1 with 5 spans. The lengths of the individual spans are 24.5+32.0+32.0+32.0+24.5 m.

The total length of the load-bearing structure is 146.80 m. The width of the load-bearing structure is 11.5 m. The load-bearing structure was designed as limited-prestressed according to ČSN 73 6207.

The slab was longitudinally prestressed with the BBV prestressing system. The cables were made from LS ropes with a diameter of 15.7 mm – 1660/1860 MPa. 14 longitudinal curved 19-strand cables, 4 longitudinal straight 7-strand cables and 4 transverse 9-strand cables were placed in the slab. The cables were stored in steel protectors type LW 100 mm, 70 mm, and 65 mm. After prestressing the structure, the cable ducts were grouted with cement mortar.
